Have a son in 6th grade for 2025/2026 school year?

Join us!  Must be in Appleton West High School boundaries.  We will fill the open spots based on willingness to commit to our program - not on skills alone.  EVERY social-economic and ethnic background are represented in our club.  You will NOT be asked to put any money down or pay any fees.  Call us before these spots fill - for more info:  920-202-2822  or email us at: gowdybasketballclub@gmail.com

Our Basketball Program is in 3 parts:

#1 - Tune up & Team Practices with a focus on new player development.  Development Tournaments (Gives new players a chance to get comfortable on the court).  September, October & November.

#2 - School Season Tournament Play. December thru February.

#3 - AAU Competitive Season. (Optional to play, but no club members are cut.)  March thru mid-June.

How we are different than other programs

We are not trying to "compete" with any other program out there.  Yes, Boys & Girls Club, Appleton Parks & Rec, the YMCA, and school feeder teams such as Appleton West Youth Basketball and Gowdy Basketball Club all have one thing in common - we offer basketball.  However, we are unique.  Here is how:

* NO FEES.  Above mentioned basketball playing options can be upwards of $190 just for registration, with more fees later.  You can start with Gowdy Basketball Club and try us out before making a commitment to our program.  After that player's families pay what they can afford.  Some pay nothing.  You will not be asked to fill out an application painfully having to describe why you need financial help.  That is your business.

* Our program runs year round.  From November 8, 2025 to Feb 8, 2026 our players will participate in 11 tournaments. This gives a player the experience they need on the court, keeps them busy doing something positive and they stay connected with friends doing something positive for their minds and bodies.

* AAU Season is March - July.  Other AAU Clubs charge $600 or more.  AAU Season is optional for the players in our club.  Any and all players who were with us during the school season are welcome to do AAU Season with us regardless of talent level and NO TRY OUT.  We just want to keep players involved in positive activity.

* We work on the whole player/child - not just basketball.  We provide

a focus on academics, Community Involvement, strong work ethic.  Read more below about our program.

Our program starts where other community programs end.  We give passionate and enthusiastic youth - regardless of whether they are a novice or experienced basketball player - training and basketball play at a highly competitive level for players willing to make the commitment and work hard,  We provide the funding to make that possible, so all youth have this opportunity, regardless of their social or economic backgrounds.  We know that through basketball and other sports a child can build character and a work ethic today that will open doors of opportunity tomorrow.

The high cost of Youth sports have motivated us to start this club.  Our coaches are experienced athletes volunteering their time to train players from novice to experienced.  Community donations & sponsors allow us to provide accelerated basketball to all youth.   This type of program would be out of reach for some players due to social or economic reasons.  Unlike some programs that ask for a nonrefundable registration fee, WE DO NOT ASK FOR ANY FEES UP FRONT.  Potential players can come and try us out before making any type of commitment.  We want to give all youth players the opportunity to reach their full potential in basketball and life.
